Jennifer Murphy

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience in the mental health field. Prior to entering private practice, I spent many years working in emergency departments, mobile crisis units, and walk-in crisis centers, where I provided psychiatric assessments and supportive counseling. This experience strengthened my ability to help adults navigate crisis, high-stress situations, and complex emotional challenges.

I specialize in trauma and PTSD, and also support adults working through anxiety, grief, and life transitions. I am trained in EMDR and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), both evidence-based approaches for trauma treatment, and I draw from a range of therapeutic modalities to tailor treatment to each individual’s needs.

I strive to create a supportive, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space—sometimes with a bit of humor—where you can feel safe to explore your experiences, process challenges, and move toward healing and growth.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke and my Master’s degree in Social Work from Aurora University.

I work with adults navigating a wide range of life’s challenges, both big and small, and aim to provide a space where you feel supported and understood.
